Extreme care is required when gluing a mirror onto the wall. The coating on the rear side of the mirror and the silver layer are sensitive and can be damaged if they come in contact with an unsuitable glue or adhesive. Den Braven Sealants has had for many years the Zwaluw Mirrorfix in their product range. Zwaluw Mirrorfix is glue based on SBR rubber. For optimum result it is important to use the instruction manual. We determine that the customer does not always read the packaging or the instruction manual before they use our products. Most customers don’t use the glue correctly because they do not follow the recommendations, they also make the mistake of using too much glue on the rear side of the mirror and this is the reason why the mirror may then become dented. The customer is then disappointed with the result. The glue dries slowly and there is a chance you will see spots on the view side of the mirror. You can read the correct working method on the packaging or in the accompanying technical brand document. Apply the glue on both mirror and substrate. Comb out the glue with a fine-tooth comb, it takes 10 minutes to dry. After that you must press it on with pressure. It is essential to support the mirror during curing. Den Braven Sealants now has Zwaluw Mirrorfix-MS! Based on MS-Polymer technology, It is faster, more effective and easy to use. To use, apply the glue in vertical strips with a distance of approximately 10 cm apart. You must put pressure on to the mirror and press it to the wall within 5 minutes. It is not essential to support the mirror in most cases. Zwaluw Mirrorfix-MS is suitable for all most mirrors, even mirrors with a powder coating on the back. To use this product we advise a solid, strong adhesive gun. You can find more information on the accompanying technical brand document.
